Day 4, Oct 23, 2010: KidStuf-DR

Mission accomplished! The KidStuf Team ended the workshop with a tearful goodbye. We are confident the churches have been equipped to create their own KidStuf ministry and can’t wait to see what they do with the tools they’ve been given. Ministry leaders agreed to submit set plans in 10 days and to put on four productions of KidStuf by April. In exchange, an FCF team will return to assist with set building. In the afternoon, the team traveled by bus to pick up kids in some surrounding communities for an afternoon program. Marshal, Matilda, Sam, Chuck and Kelly joined children’s ministry leader, Vicki, and some of her team in performing for about 100 kids! Then it was back to the hotel for a quick turn around and off to a wedding. The team ended their day about 1:30 am by putting together a sound effect cd for all the new KS leaders. We were up again by 6am to begin the journey home.

Thoughts for the Day: When we pour out ourselves to be used by God, the reward is much greater than any sacrifice we could ever make!

Day 3, Oct 22, 2010: KidStuf-DR

It was a great day of games, fun and learning from each other. The energy in the room was contagious. Chuck’s rap song was a hit. Kelly, Marshall, Matilda, Sam and Melvin have done an amazing job teaching about doing things BIG! With strong skills in dance and drama, the churches represented at the workshop have a solid foundation for a strong KidStuf program.

Thoughts for the Day: The kids are not a bridge (to reach their families) the kids are the target!; KidStuf has gone international!; How much cake WILL fit in Matilda’s nose?

Day 2, Oct 21, 2010: KidStuf-DR

This morning, the team headed out to the community where FCF teams have been constructing a church building. We toured the community and school and spent time with the local children. The afternoon was spent insuring everyone was ready for the workshop which began in the evening. The workshop was attended by nearly 40 people from eight churches! There was great interaction between the participants and the KidStuf crew. Tomorrow, we’ll be spending the day together learning how to create a KidStuf production.

Thoughts for the Day: Who knew October could be so HOT! They have cool jeans in the DR. Children have great potential for a lifetime of service to God! We need to help them find Him and learn to live for Him!

Thoughts for the Day: Thanks to Jim & Dan for missing work to drive us to the airport. Wow! what a love for missions!; We all hope Ted is feeling better; We’re excited to see how God is going to work through KidStuf in the DR.
